Lynne Mowbray and Allan Gough

Lynne Mowbray

Lynne Mowbray Lynne's interest in photography began during her late teens whilst an understudy for a photographer. Since then she has pursued her love of photography, by entering numerous competitions. Lynne fell in love with the beauty of the Clarence Valley after moving to Maclean 16 years ago.
Over the last 5 years Lynne has been a regular contributor to the local papers and now works as a freelance photographer for them. Two years ago Lynne's business 'Clarence Images' was born, which now produces brochures, postcards, flyers and web page photography for local businesses.
In this exhibition 'Elements', Lynne has tried to focus on some of the diverse local weather during the last 12 months; storms, floods, dust storm and new life after the fires, along with other 'Clarence Images'. In the last twelve months Lynne has produced greeting cards which depict local scenes and are very popular with tourists and locals alike.

Allan Gough

Allan Gough Allan's interest in woodwork started about 12 years ago. Inspired by his grandfather, who himself was a keen woodworker; Allan's passion for his craft is reflected throughout his home. Over the years he has exhibited with local artist Graeme Payne during the Jacaranda Festivals and has won many awards for his work.
Although Allan has been a member at Ferry Park Gallery for the last 19 months, this is the first time his work has been displayed here. This exhibition focus's mainly on local Clarence Valley timbers (Clarence Valley Cedar and Jacaranda) as well as Tasmanian Huon Pine. These woods have been converted into clocks, tide clocks, carved Red Cedar mirrors and Cedar tables. Allan is a fine and dedicated woodworker and this is shown in every item he makes.

Junior Artist of the month    James Deefholts

James loves aliens.

6 year old James Deefholts from Grafton thinks aliens are very cool.
Inspired by Dr Who, Ben 10 and Alien Force, James’ bold, colourful figures are indeed out of this world.
These works on display have been created with a palette of vibrant oil pastels, layered, scraped and reapplied to create a stunning visual effect. An effect many adult artists strive to achieve.
A very intuitive artist, James comments that he doesn’t plan his drawings “I just have a picture in my head, I don’t even think, I just draw” .. and what fabulous results.
What a delight to see works that are truly this young artist’ own, not influenced by formal adult order and thinking.
When not drawing James is either constructing imaginative models, or riding his scooter or rip-stick in the skate park.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see James Deefholts unique collection of imaginative aliens all of February at Ferry Park Gallery Maclean
